Susan Weinkle, MD

Dr. Susan Weinkle is an esteemed Mohs Surgeon and Cosmetic Dermatologist with over 30 years of experience. She is recognized for her exceptional skills and expertise in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, having trained under Dr. Frederic Mohs, the pioneer of this groundbreaking skin cancer therapy. Dr. Weinkle is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 1975, Dr. Weinkle earned her Medical Degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1978. She completed her Dermatology training at Stanford University in 1982, where she served as Chief Resident. In 1984, she established her private practice in Bradenton, Florida, and has since been dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Weinkle's commitment to advancing the field of dermatology is evident through her active involvement in various professional organizations and societies. She has held significant positions on the Board of Directors and chaired numerous committees in esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatology Foundation, and Florida Society of Dermatology for Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Weinkle also served as the Past President of the Women's Dermatological Society and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Weinkle was honored with the prestigious Rose Hirschler Award in 2010, recognizing her outstanding contributions to medicine and dermatology while promoting the role of women in the field.

Passionate about teaching, Dr. Weinkle is an assistant clinical professor of Dermatology at the University of South Florida. She is a highly sought-after lecturer at national and international dermatology meetings, where she shares her expertise with fellow dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

Dr. Weinkle has authored numerous articles on skin carcinomas, surgical techniques, and cosmetic therapies. Her insights and knowledge are valued as she serves on the medical advisory and editorial boards of reputable dermatological publications, including the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery. Leading newspapers and magazines like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook have recognized her expertise.
